Big Lots moving HQ, 800 jobs to northeast Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Business First reported Big Lots is moving its headquarters – and 800 jobs – across town.
The Columbus-based discount retailer is staying in the city, but plans to move its corporate offices from 300 Phillipi Road on the west side to the proposed Hamilton Quarter development in northeast Columbus bordering New Albany.

Big Lots will fill a 300,000-square-foot complex on 25 acres of the 330-acre mixed-use development. Construction could begin in six months with the move targeted for the end of 2018.
The $5.19 billion retailer’s more than 3 million-square-foot distribution center and its 400 employees will remain on the west side. CFO Tim Johnson said employment there is expected to grow as Big Lots launches and grows its e-commerce presence this year.
